Tuna is the main character of our project, or rather the technique used to capture it, the Almadraba, used since pre-Roman times.

The plot is flanked by two large monumental pieces, the Castle of Guzmán el Bueno and the Castle of Santa Catalina, pointing the view towards the South. A connection is established between them through the generation of a series of elevated squares that will form a continuity with the existing boulevard, thus extending the city’s leisure area. These squares, and due to the jump in height between the city and the port, allow the Information Center to be generated below them.

The environment is worked to achieve the coexistence of two levels, the level of the city and the level of the port. The project is generated with the castles always present and giving them the importance they deserve. We distinguish two circulations, one above, through the succesion of squares, and one below, produced by the unfolding of the first one. It is this one that leads us to the space under square.

A space that contrasts with the rest, a red colour invades the whole opening, capturing your attention. An interior designed to convey feelings, to understand how a tuna is captured. A free tour at certain points, which allows you to play and modify the space, to discover the different areas. Permeable areas, such as the lines of ropes that hang from the ceiling and zigzag throughout the space, contrast with the brick walls, some of them sloped, over which the light from the square slides and where the ground floor rises before touching the walls, searching for movement, for the feeling of swimming on top of a net, with total freedom but at the same time restricted. The Information Center runs between these spaces.

At the same time, a small office room and group work spaces share space, but it is totally versatile and adaptable to different uses. If we continue towards the end we find a regulated acces to the port, which ends in a small square inside the port, and from where you can get acces to the pontoons.

The colour of the tuna, monochromatic on the outside and intense on the inside, is represented in the project, it is in the openings of the piece where the red of the bricks is shown. On the façade the succession of vertical planes works to order the inside view, as if were a spinal column and thorns.

Everything revolves around the same protagonist, who is the subject of the project, the tuna and the Almadraba.
